New equipment at the port terminal – the 35T Rubber Straddle Carrier: The 20T Rubber Straddle Carrier operates normally even in the rain, moving containers like "pushing building blocks."
In the terminal yard, a red 35T Rubber Straddle Carrier has already solved the problem of working in the rain.
Previously, moving containers in the rain either required waiting for the rain to stop or relying on a crane to "slowly scrape" along. Now, the rubber wheels of this gantry crane have become "anti-slip weapons"—the deep tread pattern of the tires provides a firm grip, preventing slippage even when carrying 35-ton containers on wet ground, allowing for a single trip to move the containers from the ship's side to the storage area.

The driver, sitting in the cab, can operate the crane by watching the screen: the hydraulic arm automatically aligns with the container's locking holes, and the rubber wheels steer synchronously, allowing for precise container placement without leaving the vehicle. “In the past, we had to keep a close eye on the ground when working in the rain. Now, with the anti-fog glass in the cabin, it’s even easier to operate the levers than on a sunny day.” The yard manager said that since the 35T Rubber Straddle Carrier was put into use, the container turnover on rainy days has doubled. “Before, we were afraid of the tires slipping, so we didn’t dare to work. Now, with this combination of rubber wheels and a closed cab, rainy days have truly become ‘normal working days’.”
