What is a coil carriage?
A coil carriage, often called a coil transfer cart, functions similarly to a forklift, serving as specialized transport equipment within factories. However, it's designed for transporting coils of steel, aluminum, and copper. Due to the unique shape of the coils, the carrier securely grips the coils, preventing them from falling during transport.

This metal processing plant needs to move large quantities of steel coils daily between production and storage areas, from storage to production lines. The previous method involved using a crane to transfer the coils to a forklift, or having the forklift transport them directly. Using a forklift can easily lead to safety accidents and product damage, so the client approached us to customize a dedicated coil transfer device.
Custom coil transfer carts are our specialty, and our engineers immediately shared our design ideas with the client. To account for the coil's unique shape (a hollow center and smooth surface), we designed a V-groove structure on the carrier, with two inclined baffles in the center, as shown in the image. This design allows the coils to be "locked" in place, preventing them from rolling or sliding. Whether the coil is round or slightly deformed, it automatically centers once placed.
In addition, we've applied anti-slip rubber pads to the contact surfaces of the V-grooves to prevent the coils from shaking, even when the vehicle is starting or braking.
Safety is paramount for transporting coils, and it's paramount for businesses.

After the equipment arrived at the customer's factory, the customer immediately conducted a trial run.
The coil carriage moved smoothly along the track, with the coils securely fixed in the V-grooves, without shaking or noise. The customer was very satisfied and said that the car was "better to use than expected."
