Analysis of the Reasons for the Performance Degradation of the Battery Transfer Cart

After using the battery transfer cart for a period of time, its performance and functional capability may deteriorate. As a professional battery transfer cart manufacturer, Henan PEISA Machinery has summarized several reasons, as outlined below.

Driving Energy Factors

As we all know, most customers choose battery power as the driving energy source for electric flat carts, and regular maintenance of the battery is a very important factor.

  1. Battery aging: Under normal use, battery aging is likely to occur after 2–3 years. If the battery transfer cart is used for an extended period, the chemical substances and other materials inside the battery will deteriorate, resulting in a gradual decline in battery performance. This directly shortens the operating time and reduces the cruising range of the electric flat cart.

  2. Insufficient charging:
When the battery pack is undercharged repeatedly over a long period, it directly leads to a decline in battery performance. Undercharging causes insufficient battery life and prevents the cart from operating for the expected duration. Frequent undercharging accelerates battery aging.

  3. Improper battery maintenance:
Except for maintenance-free batteries, some lead-acid batteries require regular electrolyte replenishment, usually about once every three months. Timely maintenance helps keep battery performance in optimal condition and extends the service life of the battery pack.

  4. Battery connection line:
If you notice a significant drop in battery life despite regular maintenance, you should check the battery pack’s connection lines. Loose or damaged connections will directly affect the operation time of the battery transfer cart.

Drive Motor Factors

As a critical component, the motor directly determines whether the drive system functions properly.

  1. Wear of the motor carbon brush:
This will increase the noise level of the electric flat cart, and in severe cases, cause the equipment to stop working.

  2. Short circuit:
A short circuit will prevent the motor from operating normally and may cause serious damage.

  3. Bearing wear:
Bearings are vital motor parts. After a period of use, they will wear out. During routine maintenance, the motor bearings should also be inspected and maintained.

Controller Factors

  1. Damage to internal components:
Damage to the controller’s internal components can cause the electric flat cart to become unresponsive. Faulty components can also lead to overheating, short circuits, and other failures.

  2. Water ingress:
Moisture entering the controller will damage internal components and affect the cart’s normal operation. It can also create safety hazards such as electrical shorts or leakage.

Charger Factors

  1. Charger circuit board failure:
A faulty charger circuit board can cause abnormal charging and impact the cart’s normal operation. It may also result in overheating, short circuits, and other malfunctions.

  2. Aging of internal components:
As internal charger components age, charging efficiency decreases and the electric flat cart’s cruising range is reduced. Aging components may also cause the charger to malfunction or charge more slowly.
