Rail Transfer Cart Procurement by a State-Owned Enterprise

Client Background

The client in this project is a large state-owned enterprise currently developing a new factory dedicated to the production of precast concrete components. At the time of procurement, the main structural framework of the factory had already been completed, and the project had entered the next stage of construction.

During this phase, the factory needed to frequently transport medium- to heavy-weight materials within the workshop area. At the same time, the client was preparing for the early transition from construction to production operations, which required the procurement of suitable internal transportation equipment in advance.

Because the client did not have a direct procurement channel for this type of equipment, they established cooperation with our company through a designated intermediary partner.

The client's primary requirement was to purchase a rail transfer cart specifically designed for transporting precast concrete components within the workshop, helping solve material handling challenges both during the factory construction phase and future production operations.

Customized Solution

Based on the client's operational needs, we designed and manufactured a long rectangular rail transfer cart tailored to the dimensions of the precast concrete components.

Since precast concrete products are typically long and rectangular in shape, the cart platform was designed to closely match the size and structure of the materials. This configuration ensures stable loading and transportation, while minimizing the risk of material damage caused by collisions or improper support.

The transfer cart is constructed using high-strength structural steel, providing excellent durability and load-bearing capability. The equipment is designed to safely transport loads of up to 3 tons, meeting the client's current handling requirements.

Additionally, we considered the future development plans of the factory. At present, the facility is still under construction, so the transfer cart needs to be operated manually for immediate material transportation. However, once the factory becomes fully operational, the client intends to gradually introduce automated production systems.

To support this future upgrade, we reserved a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) interface within the electrical control system of the transfer cart. This design allows the client to easily integrate automation programs in the future, enabling automated movement, positioning, and dispatching of the rail cart without requiring major equipment modifications.

This solution effectively balances short-term practicality with long-term automation readiness.

By reserving a PLC control interface, the client can easily upgrade the equipment to automated operation in the future, significantly reducing potential upgrade co
