A rail transfer trolley, also known as a rail transfer cart or rail-guided trolley, is a type of material handling equipment designed to move heavy loads along a fixed track system. These trolleys are widely used in factories, warehouses, shipyards, and other industrial environments where heavy items such as steel coils, large machinery, and bulky components need to be transported efficiently.
The rail power rail flat cart uses AC power from within the factory, which is stepped down by a transformer to a low voltage acceptable to the human body, thus providing power to the trolley. The track system of this equipment requires insulation; it is not suitable for operation in environments with heavy rainfall or where conductive materials are present.
Suitable Operating Conditions for Rail Transfer Trolleys
Environments containing dust, provided that no conductive particles are present;
High-frequency, heavy-duty operations requiring continuous movement throughout the day;
Applications involving oversized cargo transportation, inter-workshop transfers, long-distance transport, or fixed linear travel routes;
Assembly lines and automated production workshops.
Summary:
Low-voltage rail powered transfer carts are ideally suited for heavy industrial facilities with fixed indoor routes, heavy loads, high operating frequency, 24-hour continuous production, and dry environments with little or no conductive dust. However, they are not suitable for outdoor applications, areas prone to water accumulation, explosive or hazardous environments, or facilities where the production layout changes frequently.
Power Supply System: The AC 380V power supply is stepped down to AC 36V three-phase through a transformer and connected to the three rails. The wheels and conductive sliders on the rail car transfer the AC 36V power from the three tracks into the onboard electrical box.
Boost and Control System: Inside the vehicle's electrical box, a boost transformer increases the three-phase AC 36V to three-phase AC 380V. The AC control system then regulates the AC metallurgical motor, enabling the flat car to execute commands such as starting, stopping, moving forward, and moving backward.

Strong Load Capacity: Designed with a load capacity of 10 tons, allowing it to easily handle heavy equipment and materials.
Low-Voltage Track Power Supply: Utilizes a low-voltage (typically 36V three-phase) track power supply. Electrical energy is obtained through the wheels using conductive sliders or electric carbon brushes from the track. The onboard electrical box then uses a boost transformer to increase the voltage to a level suitable for motor operation (such as 380V), driving the motor efficiently.
Smooth Operation: Thanks to the low-voltage power supply and an advanced electrical control system, the rail trolley ensures a smooth start, high starting torque, and minimal impact on the reducer during operation.
Strong Adaptability: Suitable for complex environments, including S-shaped tracks, curved tracks, and high-temperature conditions, offering excellent safety and flexibility.
