What is an Electric Turntable?

An electric turntable—also known as a rotary platform—is an auxiliary piece of equipment. It is commonly used together with rail transfer carts to change the cart's direction of travel.

Its structure is simple, consisting primarily of the following components: a slewing bearing, steel circular platform, motor and gearbox unit, electrical control cabinet, and rails.

It is powered by the factory's AC power supply. Once powered on, electricity flows into the control cabinet, allowing operators to control forward rotation, reverse rotation, and stopping functions through the control cabinet or remote control. It supports 90-degree, 180-degree, and 360-degree rotations.

What is the difference between an electric turntable and a standard transfer cart?

1. An electric turntable rotates and changes direction at a fixed location; it cannot move away from its installation site.

2. An electric transfer cart can travel over long distances and offers various power supply options.

Why Does a Factory Need an Electric Turntable?

In some workshops, transfer carts need to change direction between two perpendicular rail tracks. A conventional transfer cart cannot directly move from one track to another. An electric turntable provides controlled 90° or 180° rotation, allowing the cart to align with another rail.
